Blue Ivy was a proud daughter as she supported her dad, Jay-Z, at his pop-up event in New York City on Thursday, sporting a chic new hairstyle just days after her mother, Beyoncé Knowles, revealed insight into her hair journey.
The 14-year-old looked incredibly cool as she joined Jay-Z at the Reasonable Doubt event to celebrate the 30th anniversary of his debut album, dressed in a gray hoodie and light-wash jeans paired with black-framed glasses.
She wore her luscious hair in a braid that began at the base of her head and fell past her waist with blonde highlights woven throughout. Fans couldn't get enough of her new look, with many comparing her to her famous mother.
"Baby girl is her mama's twin and her pop's bestie!" one wrote on social media, while another added: "Blue with the 'Formation' ponytail looking just like her mother," referencing Beyoncé's song "Formation".
"She's stunning!" said another fan, while a fourth declared: "She is that girl." Prior to Blue Ivy's NYC outing, Beyoncé revealed that the teen was once insecure about her hair, prompting Jay-Z to show his support with a sweet move.
"I thought it was always beautiful that the real reason Jay grew out his hair was to show Blue that her hair was like his hair," she explained on YouTube.
"Let me rewind and tell you some backstory. Our daughter was about five, and she wasn't feeling very confident about her hair at that time. When she told her father that, it inspired Jay to grow out his hair."

"We really wanted her to love and embrace every inch of her gorgeous curls," she added. Jay-Z is also supportive of Blue Ivy's aspirations for the stage, particularly after she joined her mother for the Renaissance World Tour in 2023 and the Cowboy Carter Tour in 2025.
"That was amazing. On the first tour, there was a lot of conversation around her first performance, and she worked really hard to get to that point, but she still wasn't going for it," Jay-Z told GQ about Blue Ivy's dance performance.
"She still was going through the motions. And then she just started fighting back," he continued. "I saw her fight maybe for the first time in her life – like, not everything is just given to her and everything is easy. She fought for it."
"She's almost on every number. I had to take her off some, like, 'Man, you can't be on that stage when [Beyoncé's] singing 'Six-inch heels'… are you crazy?'" the rapper added.
Jay-Z also revealed his daughter's incredible musical talent, which he said was self-taught. "Blue is a crazy pianist, but she won't let us get her a teacher. She doesn't want it to be a job. But she has perfect pitch. If she hears a song, she'll be like 'Play it again', and then she'll teach herself," he said.
