Kyra Sedgwick shared a sweet confession in her emotional tribute to husband Kevin Bacon for his birthday on July 8.
The actress posted a slideshow featuring rare throwback pictures of the couple along to Olivia Rodrigo's song "u + me = <3" for Kevin's 68th birthday.
In the various pictures, the duo appeared happily in love as they smiled ear to ear while embracing each other during their younger years. The star emphasized the lyrics from the song: "I know everybody changes but I hope that we don't."
Kyra got sentimental in her caption, writing: "Happy Birthday to this stud. Wouldn't wanna do life with anyone else."
Fans react
Fans loved the heartwarming post and flocked to the comments to cheer the happy couple on.
One person wrote: "Happy birthday to a great guy and beautiful couple! You guys got it right. So blessed."
A second commenter added: "Oh you made me cry. Happy Birthday!" A third fan continued: "We love you both!!! So inspirational, heartwarming and loving! What the world needs NOW."
About their special bond
The couple has impressively been married for three decades and revealed the secret to their longevity to Page Six, admitting: "We're really lucky. We got lucky really young."
The actress explained that despite the couple making it look easy, they put the work in.
She explained: "[But] you know it's work, it's always going to be work. A partnership for that long demands a lot of you…I feel like a very lucky woman."
Kyra isn't the only one who has gushed about Kevin publicly – Kevin has also spoken highly of her and how she's his rock.
He expressed to People: "Kyra and I believe in each other as actors, as directors and as talent. She's never been anything other than supportive of me. She doesn't have a competitive bone in her body when it comes to me. She takes my successes as hers. I'm the same way."
The actor continued: "Her partnership is invaluable. I found someone I was meant to be with."
The pair's history
The duo first met in 1977 when Kyra attended Kevin's Off-Broadway play and congratulated him afterwards. The pair reconnected in 1987 while they shot Lemon Sky together.
Sparks flew and Kevin romantically proposed on Christmas Eve that same year, as Kevin charmingly put the engagement ring in Kyra's stocking.
They tied the knot the following year and the two welcomed Travis Bacon into the world in 1989 and their daughter Sosie Bacon in 1992.
