The 2026 FIFA World Cup is still going strong as it slowly reaches the semi-finals portion.
Former USMNT star Brian McBride knows a thing or two about competing on the world's stage and what it takes to reach the top.
The former professional celebrated the opening of the Truly Believe Bar located in Texas Arizona in Hoboken, New Jersey, as he took in the energetic enthusiasm for the sport from the eventgoers.
Brian exclusively shared his game strategy with HELLO! and fondly reminisced on the "most special" moment that he had during his successful career.
Brian's insight
He believes that playing your best in the big leagues requires a strong and disciplined mindset.
The star advised: "[Players] should approach it the same way that they got them on the team – make sure that you keep your focus and be confident in yourself. Believe in yourself, believe in your team, and embrace the nerves."
He continued: "Allow that to help you focus rather than make it wide – you just bring it into focus."
Every time the World Cup comes around, Brian gets reinvigorated by the passion he sees out on the pitch and in the stands, which brings back nostalgic memories.
The athlete recalled one particular snapshot in time that he cherishes deeply to this day.
Brian shared: "The World Cups were special. All three of them were different, but the game against Portugal when I scored – I knew exactly where my wife and my daughter [were], so I got to celebrate with them and make eye contact."
He continued: "That was probably the most special moment, but also that match itself as a group and as a team, set the tone for us for that World Cup."
