Blue Ivy Carter looked every inch her superstar mother's double as she joined her parents for an unforgettable family moment at Yankee Stadium.

The 14-year-old debuted waist-length honey-blonde curls reminiscent of Beyoncé's signature hairstyle as she made a surprise appearance during the opening night of dad Jay-Z's three-concert residency in New York.

Blue wore her voluminous curls beneath a navy Yankees cap and bandana, completing her effortlessly cool look with a white pinstripe baseball jersey, loose-fitting navy cargo jeans and tan boots as she was pictured backstage alongside Alicia Keys.

With her megawatt smile and confident stage presence, the teenager bore a striking resemblance to Beyoncé, 44, while putting her own youthful spin on the family's coordinated Yankees-inspired style.

Blue's appearance was about far more than fashion. The talented teenager took her place at the piano during her father's 1996 song Feelin' It, revealing another skill to the thousands of fans gathered inside the stadium.

Jay-Z, 56, proudly introduced his eldest child as "the legendary Blue Ivy Carter" before she performed her solo, earning an enthusiastic reception from the crowd.

The performance came during the opening night of Jay-Z's three-show residency, which celebrated the 30th anniversary of his debut album, Reasonable Doubt. The star-studded evening also included appearances from Beyoncé, Alicia Keys and Nas.

Beyoncé embraced the stadium's baseball theme in a sleek black pinstripe look as she performed Mary J. Blige's part on Can't Knock the Hustle, making the concert a rare public family affair.

Jay-Z previously opened up about Blue's natural musical abilities, revealing that his daughter had taught herself how to play the piano rather than working with a tutor.

"She won't let us get her a teacher. She doesn't want it to be a job," he told GQ. "But she has perfect pitch. If she hears a song, she'll be like, 'Play it again,' and then she'll teach herself."

The proud father continued: "That's just talent. She doesn't work at that. She worked at this, and it makes me proud that she fought for something that she really wanted to do.

"I don't think we're going to be able to get her off that stage now."

Blue has already established herself as a confident performer after joining Beyoncé on stage during the record-breaking Renaissance tour and later taking a prominent role in the Cowboy Carter shows.

Her latest appearance proved she has inherited both of her parents' musical instincts, while her glamorous blonde transformation made the resemblance to her famous mother more striking than ever.

Jay-Z's third and final Yankee Stadium concert was marred by disruption after hundreds of people without tickets reportedly overwhelmed entrances, forcing the venue to close its gates temporarily.

The rapper eventually began the show shortly after midnight and apologised to the crowd, explaining that he had delayed the performance because he did not want anybody to be injured amid the rush outside.

In a joint statement, the Yankees, Roc Nation and Live Nation said large groups had "stormed over peaceful ticketholders" and, in some cases, breached security. The organisers added that the entrances were reopened carefully with guidance from the NYPD once it was considered safe to do so.

Despite the delay, the final night delivered another celebrity-packed show, with surprise guests including Beyoncé, Rihanna, Usher, Pharrell and Fat Joe.
