Jon Bon Jovi was forced to end his show at Madison Square Garden early on July 23 after vocal issues saw him struggling to get through the set.
The Bon Jovi frontman, 64, was 90 minutes into the set on night eight of his nine-night residency at the iconic arena, as part of the band's Forever Tour, when he informed the packed crowd that he was "hurting."
"I know I'm letting you down and it's not like me to do that," the rock legend confessed. "We're gonna do one more song, and I'm gonna need you're help. We might have to cool it because I'm [expletive] hurting."
Jon then launched into his 1986 hit, "Livin' on a Prayer" with the help of Train's Pat Monahan and the crowd, before he abruptly ended the show.
Apologizing to the audience, Jon promised to reschedule the show. "Don't throw away your ticket stubs, I'm gonna figure something out, OK? Just hold onto it, we'll figure out how to reschedule," he told fans.
"But I'm gonna have to cool it for the night. I feel great. I'll see you again soon, goodnight," he added, before he was embraced by his bandmembers and exited the stage to cheers from the crowd.
© Getty ImagesFollowing his exit, it was revealed that Jon had been battling a sinus infection. "Jon Bon Jovi spoke from stage and told fans he has been battling a sinus infection, which led to the show's early ending," his spokesperson said in a statement to Rolling Stone.
"As part of the Bon Jovi residency at Madison Square Garden, Jon has said numerous times that it has been a joy to return to live shows for the band. Updated information will be available shortly."

Jon's return to the stage comes four years after he underwent vocal cord surgery in 2022, and two years after he claimed he might never perform live again.
"If the singing is not great, if I can't be the guy I once was … then I'm done," he told the Sunday Times in 2024.
© Getty ImagesHowever, last month, the "You Give Love a Bad Name' singer said he was "fully recovered," telling People: "It was longer than I'd ever expected, but it had to be right. We never lost faith."
Speaking about his damaged vocal cords, Jon said: "I'd often joked and said the only thing that's ever been up my nose was my finger. I never did anything to hurt the cords; I didn't have any excesses. I'm a trained vocalist. I've practiced the craft."

"This forced me to not only live in the today but be appreciative for every today that's still here."
