Celine Dion appeared overcome with emotion when she was greeted by cheering crowds outside her Paris hotel on Friday, August 28.
Her arrival at the Hotel Le Royal Monceau marks her first public appearance in two years, with her last official outing in November 2024 when she performed at an Elie Saab fashion show in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Celine looked touched by the warm reception, clutching her hands to her chest and blowing kisses to her adoring fans, who waited to catch a glimpse of her ahead of her comeback shows in the city next month.
She looked très chic in a double-breasted camel-colored trench coat, with draping ruffles on the sides, black cutout heeled boots, and oversized dark sunglasses.
Celine's stage comeback
Celine announced in March that she is returning for her first regular set of performances in six years after the end of her Courage World Tour in 2020.
© Getty ImagesHer planned 2021 Las Vegas residency was postponed and then canceled due to "severe and persistent muscle spasms," a side effect of stiff person syndrome, a rare, progressive neurological disorder, which Celine revealed in December 2022 she had been diagnosed with.
However, on September 12, 2026, Celine begins her residency at Plenitude Arena in Nanterre, a western suburb of the French capital.
© Getty ImagesShe will perform 16 shows between September and October, and due to "overwhelming demand," the residency has been extended with 10 additional shows in May 2027.
Celine has been training intensely to facilitate her stage return, taking 90-minute Pilates classes three times a week, ballet classes twice a week, and spending her free time leaning up against a barre at her home gym.
While the "Because You Loved Me" singer noted feeling both "excited" and "nervous" about her upcoming run of shows – her first big comeback since the opening ceremony of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris – she is "ready" to return to the stage.

"I have always felt supported from the first day, and because it's a story that continues. It's true that this is my second home," she added.
When asked to spill her opening song, she teased: "I can't say, it's a big secret!"
© Getty ImagesSpeaking with Harper's Bazaar a few short weeks before she makes her comeback, Celine shared an update on how she's faring with her stiff person syndrome, a condition she'd been experiencing symptoms of for nearly two decades.
"It is a progressive condition," she explained, although she refrained from calling it a "disease," joking that it makes her scrunch up her nose into a disgusted expression and say something like: "Kevin, you're such a disease."
Reiterating how much she is looking forward to seeing her fans again, she added: "It's been so long, I would like to offer them something to show how I've missed them."
