A special baby announcement occurred during the July 31 episode of the <em id="eP-Bihiig0Z"><span class="fr-deletable" contenteditable="false" data-type="mention/taxonomy"><a contenteditable="true" data-id="15857" data-name="Today Show" data-slug="15857" href="taxonomies/15857">Today Show</a></span></em>. NBC nutritionist Joy Bauer revealed the news during the food segment of the show.
Joy shared with her co-stars that she is expecting her first grandchild. "Before we get out of here, you've got an announcement as well," said <span class="fr-deletable" contenteditable="false" data-type="mention/taxonomy"><a contenteditable="true" data-id="16358" data-name="Craig Melvin" data-slug="16358" href="taxonomies/16358">Craig Melvin</a></span>. "I'm going to be a grandma," replied Joy. "I feel like I've waited my entire life to get into this club. My daughter, Jesse, is pregnant, and my son Jason as well. My new little sous chef is on the way."
"I love this," said Craig. Joy's co-star's then surprised her with white baby onesies emblazoned with the orange <em id="e91NuTFH0Yi">Today Show</em> logo. "Start Today baby," added Craig.
Joy began her official role as the resident nutrition and health expert on the show back in 2006. She promotes healthy recipes and her popular "Joy Fit Club" series. The host wakes up between 4 a.m. and 5 a.m. every morning for the NBC series.
"I started out on a conventional path for a registered dietitian, but by nature, I’m very unconventional, so I’ve been down a lot of different avenues in my career," she previously told <em id="eFhUiQb0o7A">Forbes</em>. "These days, I have the amazing opportunity to reach millions of people and deliver a message of health through various media outlets, including digital, television, radio, print publications and lectures. And perhaps best of all, I continue to learn and grow as a registered dietician, foodie and health coach."
Joy continued: "Making my first appearance on NBC's <em id="eJTe5jiTwrL">Today Show</em>…this was like a dream come true! And trust me, I wasn't even good. I was a real novice."
The NBC star is married to Ian Bauer and they share three children – Jesse, Cole, and Ayden.

The news anchor's daughter, Courtney Roker Laga, and her husband, Wesley Laga, welcomed their daughter, Sky, in July 2023.
Following Sky's birth, Al shared how wonderful it was to become a granddad and how much she has influenced him in a positive way. "It is magical, it really is," he said on the <em id="eZlRMKMSJly">Today Show</em>.
"The thing is, everyone tells you it’s going to be this thing and you don’t know."
He continued: "It’s like when they tell you about having your first child. And then to hold this little girl, knowing almost 35 years ago I held her mom? ... she's just perfect."
