Growing up in the spotlight doesn't always guarantee lifelong success, but for a select group of former child stars, early fame became the foundation for extraordinary wealth.

From billion-dollar beauty brands to cryptocurrency empires and sports franchises, these celebrities transformed childhood careers into multimillion-dollar — and in some cases billionaire — business empires.

Here's a look at some of the richest former child stars today.

Selena Gomez

Long before she became one of the world's biggest pop stars and entrepreneurs, Selena Gomez was winning over audiences on Barney & Friends before landing her breakout Disney Channel role on Wizards of Waverly Place.

Today, much of her fortune comes from Rare Beauty, the cosmetics brand she launched in 2020. While Bloomberg previously estimated her wealth at more than $1 billion, Forbes now values her net worth at around $700 million, making her one of the richest entertainers in Hollywood. Rare Beauty remains the largest contributor to her fortune, alongside earnings from music, acting, endorsements and Only Murders in the Building.

Jessica Alba landed her first film role at just 13 years old before becoming a household name through projects including Dark Angel and Fantastic Four.

However, it was her move into business that transformed her financial future.

In 2012, she co-founded The Honest Company, which focused on baby and household products. Just three years later, the business reached a $1 billion valuation.

"I made a lot of money in entertainment at a very young age and I saved it," Jessica previously told Forbes, explaining that careful financial planning helped lay the foundations for her business success.

Kylie Jenner

Kylie Jenner has been on television since she was nine years old thanks to Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

She turned that global profile into Kylie Cosmetics, launching the beauty brand in 2015 before selling a 51 per cent stake to Coty in a deal worth $600 million in 2020.

Although she was previously declared the world's youngest self-made billionaire before Forbes later revised its estimates, the publication currently values her fortune at around $670 million.

Long before becoming one of the wealthiest women in entertainment, Jami Gertz was a familiar face thanks to films including Sixteen Candles, Less Than Zero and The Lost Boys.

Today, she and her husband Tony Ressler are co-owners of the NBA's Atlanta Hawks, with Ressler's fortune estimated to be around $8 billion.

Jami has repeatedly pushed back against suggestions her wealth came solely through marriage.

"Everyone thinks I married a rich guy," she previously told The Hollywood Reporter. "I made more money — way more money — than Tony when I met him."

Former Disney child actor Brock Pierce took one of Hollywood's most unexpected career turns.

After appearing in The Mighty Ducks, he left acting during his teenage years and became an early cryptocurrency investor and entrepreneur.

Forbes previously estimated his crypto fortune at between $700 million and $1 billion, making him one of the industry's earliest success stories.

Drew Barrymore became an international star at just seven years old after starring in E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.

While acting remained a huge part of her career, she later built a successful business empire spanning production, beauty, homewares, publishing and daytime television.

Today, her wealth is estimated around $85million, thanks to ventures including Flower Beauty and her hit daytime talk show.

Few child stars successfully transitioned into fashion quite like Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.

After becoming television icons on Full House, the twins built one of the biggest merchandising empires of the 1990s before stepping away from acting altogether.

They went on to found luxury label The Row, now considered one of fashion's most respected brands, alongside contemporary line Elizabeth and James. Their combined fortune is estimated to be around $500million each.

Daniel Radcliffe was just 11 when he was cast as Harry Potter, a role that made him one of the highest-paid child actors in history.

Rather than chasing blockbuster franchises after Hogwarts, Daniel has carefully selected theatre, television and independent film roles while growing his fortune through savvy financial management.

His wealth is estimated to exceed $100 million, making him one of Britain's richest actors of his generation.

Emma Watson also parlayed childhood fame into long-term financial success following the Harry Potter films.

Alongside acting roles in Beauty and the Beast and Little Women, she has secured lucrative fashion partnerships, invested in sustainable businesses and become one of the entertainment industry's most influential advocates for women's rights. Her fortune is estimated to be well over $80 million.

Macaulay Culkin

After becoming one of the world's most famous child actors in Home Alone, Macaulay Culkin stepped away from Hollywood before making a successful return years later.

Today, the actor has rebuilt his career through television, producing, podcasting and acting, while maintaining an estimated fortune of around $20 million.
