In the days before TikTok, Instagram and Facebook took over the world, there was only one social network all the cool kids were on – MySpace.
Avid users of the site will have fond memories of their very first digital friend, MySpace Tom, whose profile appeared in everyone's top eight list.
Tom Anderson was the co-founder alongside Chris DeWolfe, but they sold the business to News Corp for a huge $580 million in 2005.
He remained at the company until he retired in 2009 at 38, and while he didn't bank the entire sum, he still made "more money than I'll ever need or could spend."
What MySpace Tom is doing today
The 55-year-old, worth a reported $60 million, owns homes in Hawaii, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas, but his "favorite" place to spend his time is Oahu, Hawaii, when he's not travelling the world as a landscape and travel photographer.
"About 7 years ago, I chose to live in multiple places around the world; I consider myself a member of various communities. The differences are striking. One of my favorite homes is Hawaii," he wrote on Instagram in 2017.
Tom doesn't post frequently, but he has shared his beautiful photos from exotic destinations such as Thailand, Bhutan, and the Maldives on his Instagram and Twitter accounts.
According to reports, he refuses to sell his photos or take commercial commissions because he doesn't want it to feel like "work."
Named @myspacetom, the entrepreneur doesn't have quite as many followers as he did in his Myspace days but does have an impressive 847,000 fans admiring his photography on Instagram alone.
"Former 1st friend! All we need is love. Music, architecture, golf, surf, interior design, writing, creativity. Life Extension-Don't die!" his profile reads.
Alongside photography, Tom is also interested in architectural design and is currently a partner and investor in the Blue Heron design-build architecture firm.
He is also an ambassador for the clothing brand Students Golf, and according to his Threads bio, he has worked with AI, Elon Musk's SpaceX, and is a "CRISPR Investr" with "no interest in politics."
Is Tom on Facebook?
Although the downfall of MySpace was often attributed to Facebook's popularity, it appears Tom doesn't bear any grudges, as he has his own page on the social network, which has over one million followers.
They'll be able to fondly remember their MySpace days, considering Tom uses the same profile picture on all his social media accounts as he did when MySpace first launched in 2003.
Does he have a girlfriend?
It appears that Tom is off the market and dating aesthetics nurse practitioner and social media influencer Joanna Yoo.
In May 2026, Joanna appeared to hard-launch their relationship by sharing a video of herself wearing a shirt with her "boyfriend's face on it" – and, you guessed it, it's Tom's MySpace profile picture.
While Tom wasn't shown on camera, a man could be heard laughing in the background and asking Joanna: "Where'd you get that?" to which she replied: "Do you like it? I got you a matching one."
"Pls pin my comment boo," Tom commented on the post with a crying laughing emoji.
Many fans were shocked by Joanna's video, with some wondering whether their relationship is real. "Wait I can't tell if this is a joke or not," one follower wrote.
Another said: "Wait..WHAT???? Because I know he commented on your videos before! Is this for real????"
Other fans did some digging and claimed that Tom and Joanna are a real couple. "I had to lurk his page and it is! If you look at his GOLF highlights. He has the same dog she posts on her page. Lol." Another said: "Not a joke. She's happy."
While it's unclear how long they have been a couple, Tom has been active in the comments on several of Joanna's posts since, with her often responding with heart emojis.
