Julia Roberts' rarely-seen adult son made his first solo public appearance over the weekend.
The actress, 58, and her husband Daniel "Danny" Moder, share twins Phinnaeus and Hazel, 21, and younger son Henry, 19, all of whom are currently college students.
Over the Labor Day weekend, the pair's older son Phinnaeus was seemingly photographed at the 2026 US Open in New York City, marking his very first solo sighting and a rare public appearance altogether.
© Getty ImagesThe 21-year-old was dressed in a gray polo tee with black and white lightly checkered slacks and black loafers, contrasting with his brightly ginger locks. Not much is known about his plus-one, named Miriam Moghtader, beyond the fact that she is a former tennis champ as well.
© Getty ImagesBoth were seen in the bleachers catching the game, clearly engrossed, and sporting the Open's orange VIP bands. At one point, Phinnaeus flashed a smile to the camera, the same kind of thousand-watt grin that made his mother a beloved film star.
© Getty ImagesPhinnaeus' cousin Emma Roberts was also at the US Open earlier, a few short weeks after her wedding in Idaho, which was attended by the entire family, including Julia, Danny and their three kids.
The strapping young adult was spotted out and about in New York City in June with his mom, although the actress and her cameraman husband usually aim to keep their kids out of the spotlight.
Julia opened up last year to her friend and former co-star George Clooney about herself and Daniel being seen as two of the "stricter" parents in their group, especially when it comes to something like screen time and internet use.
© Getty Images"I'm not on any of them, but only because I find that my life is so much simpler without doing it," George asked her for 72 Magazine. "But I worry about kids. I worry about my kids, obviously. And I was wondering if you worry about that, which is the value system."
"I'm worried about my kids; we keep them off the internet as much as we can," the Syriana star, who shares twins Ella and Alexander with wife Amal Clooney, noted. "But, you know, some of their homework is done on a computer. And they do like to watch a good Snoopy movie and things like that. But I wonder what your version of it is."
© InstagramOn the limits she creates for them, the Erin Brockovich star explained: "I think they were, for sure, some of the last kids in their peer groups to get phones and stuff like that. When they were younger, certainly, Danny and I would have been considered some of the stricter parents."
"Not like we're laying down the law, but these are the rules and they don't change. Here's the boundary of your life and it does not shift. You know, you don't ask me and get an answer and then go ask dad and get a different answer. That doesn't happen. It will never happen."
She continued: "I think that is what creates the stability that then allows them to feel secure because you know there is this fixed world of love and safety that exists unconditionally."
