Amal Clooney delved into her personal sartorial archives for her latest ensemble. The international human rights lawyer attended a meeting with Greek President Konstantinos Tasoulas at the Presidential Mansion in Athens, Greece, on September 10 – and her outfit was strikingly familiar.
The 48-year-old wore a 70s-inspired skirt suit by Bottega Veneta. The bold red ensemble consisted of a silk shirt adorned with a tie-up detail at the center, a high-waisted midi skirt and a matching cropped blazer jacket. She accessorized with a pair of dainty drop earrings, a black leather handbag, and exotic print pumps. Amal's brunette locks were styled into her signature blowout while her makeup oozed glam, courtesy of a smoky eye and a nude lip.
Amal wore the same Bottega Veneta skirt suit with nude heels and a matching handbag back in 2017, when she attended a U.N. security council meeting in New York. The Lebanese lawyer was photographed as she headed to J.F.K. Airport.
Amal Clooney's style moments in Venice
The fashion mogul's trip to Greece comes after she attended the 83rd Venice International Film Festival alongside her husband, George Clooney. For the red carpet, Amal wore a Tom Ford number by Haider Ackermann. The custom-made black gown was crafted in black silk taffeta and featured sculptural panels with delicate pleating. The square neckline was adorned in patent leather while the dress fell into a figure-hugging silhouette. Amal styled the gown with Tom Ford Vertigo shoes in patent black and a matching leather clutch.
Amal's fashion marathon continued on into the evening, where she was photographed dressed in an archival Prada mini dress adorned with turquoise fringed sequins and silver gems. The garment featured a strapless design with a bandeau neckline and a figure-hugging silhouette. The look was styled with silver pumps and a pair of matching diamond-encrusted drop earrings.
Amal and George Clooney's red carpet secret
The couple not only like to coordinate their outfits for the red carpet – but also their scents. At the 83rd Golden Globes earlier this year, George and Amal opted for matching hair perfumes. Hair stylist Dimitris Giannetos finished George and Amal’s looks with Initio Parfums Privés Hair Perfume on the nights. The actor wore Oud For Greatness, while his wife was accented with Atomic Rose.
"Amal wore a stunning red dress from Balmain with a vintage 50s feel. It was a recreation of the Balmain Erato dress from the 1950s. I wanted to create a hair look that complemented this gorgeous gown, so we went with soft Parisian vintage waves. At the end, I misted Initio Atomic Rose Hair Perfume to finish the look with a rosy, vintage smell," he shared in a press release.
"George wore a beautifully tailored Armani suit. George is very handsome and doesn’t need much so for his grooming we kept it minimal. I gave him a very clean and sharp haircut. At the end I sprayed some Initio Oud for Greatness Hair Perfume for the final touch," added Dimitris.
We wonder what matching scents the couple chose for their Venice Film Festival appearance last week.
