Bunker
Penélope and Javier Bardem first met on the set of Jamón Jamón in 1992 and began dating after co-starring in 2008's Vicky Cristina Barcelona. They tied the knot in 2010, and welcomed their kids Leo and Luna in 2011 and 2013, respectively. The couple star as husband-and-wife duo Miguel and Sofia in their new film, Bunker.
Bunker is a psychological thriller film written and directed by Florian Zeller. The plot follows an architect whose marriage is tested after he accepts a project to build a bunker for a billionaire. During the 2026 Venice Film Festival, the movie received a 15.5 minute standing ovation following its screening, which saw Penelope break down in tears as she kissed her husband and co-star. As the applause continued, the actress was spotted mouthing "Thank you!" to the audience.
For the event, the actress wore a custom red Chanel gown that featured a deep neckline with a figure-hugging silhouette. The waist was adorned with feather trimmed detailing and the garment boasted a thigh-high slit embellished with the house's signature buttons.
