Halloween is around the corner, and for pregnant women who are in their final trimester, and love the spooky season, inspiration for possible baby names are all around.

The fall brings unique ideas for names based off of characters from popular horror movies and books, spices and herbs, celebrated historical towns and much more.

Speaking of which, fittingly the name Autumn, can forever cement one's love of the season, as well as October or Opal, which celebrates the magical month and its birthstone. If you consistently follow horoscopes, you may want to think about Scorpio.

Character-based baby names

Names that are inspired by characters include Annabelle, Bella, Freddy, Buffy, Carrie, Casper, Chucky, Cullen, Hamlet, Ivy, Morticia, Tabitha, Edward, Winifred, Blair, Sabrina, Storm, Glinda and Wednesday.

There is an evolving trend of parents choosing to wait weeks after their child's birth, in order to study the characteristics of their newborn, to best match their energy to a name.

Baby name consultant Collen Slagen emphasizes the importance of taking your time when choosing a name, being that she's heard from a plethora of parents who "regret" the option they went with.

She advised on Today: "If you are feeling like you want to change it and you've been thinking about it for months, you will be much happier if you change it, because I don't think these feelings will ever go away for you."

As a celebrity reference, Kylie Jenner and ex-partner Travis Scott named their son Wolf, which can also be classified as a Halloween name.
