Chad Lowe has returned to social media following the death of his 13-year-old daughter, Fiona.
The Pretty Little Liars actor, 58, shared a reflective video to his Instagram Stories on Thursday, October 8, his first post since the family announced their devastating loss.
The clip featured Irish author Gerry Hussey discussing spirituality during an interview on Olivia Hunt's On Healing podcast. Chad reposted the footage without adding a caption or a personal message.
Chad Lowe's first post since Fiona's death
Originally recorded for a June 2025 podcast episode, the conversation explored faith, consciousness and connection. Chad let the clip stand alone, offering no further public comment about his family's grief.
Chad shared a clip from Olivia Hunt's On Healing podcast, in which author Gerry Hussey reflected on spirituality and connection. "It's a frequency, it's an energy field and we possess it all the time within ourselves. We are all part of the frequency. We all possess direct access to that," Gerry said in the podcast clip.
He continued: "We both possess the human and the divine, and through consciousness and awareness, when we awaken the peaceful observer and we get beyond our physical human emotions and our physical human needs and the needs of the ego, and we just let go and we release all that and we connect to a feeling, that is the divine frequency."
Describing the mindset as "christ consciousness", he added: "You just have to just trust because when you see the world through the eyes of the human ego, nothing makes sense." Chad reposted the conversation without adding his own words. Fiona died on September 29. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner subsequently confirmed that her death had been ruled a suicide.
Chad and his wife, producer Kim Painter, announced the loss in a family statement, saying: "We are deeply heartbroken by the loss of our beloved Fiona." They remembered her as a bright, creative child with a love of dance, cherished by her parents and sisters, and requested privacy as they grieved.
Fiona Lowe's sister Mabel shares a loving tribute
Fiona was the middle of Chad and Kim's three daughters, alongside Mabel, 17, and Nixie, ten.
Following her sister's death, Mabel shared a collection of childhood photographs on Instagram, remembering the years they had spent growing up together.
Her accompanying message expressed her love for Fiona and her determination to preserve her memory."I will honor you forever and keep your memory alive," she wrote.
Other relatives have also shared messages during the family's bereavement. Fiona's cousin John Owen Lowe, the son of Chad's older brother Rob Lowe, posted an extract from Emily Dickinson's poem Hope Is the Thing with Feathers to his Instagram Stories.
Chad Lowe's pride in being a father
Known to television audiences as Byron Montgomery in Pretty Little Liars, Chad previously won an Emmy for his portrayal of Jesse McKenna in Life Goes On. Alongside acting, he has built a career as a television director.
Away from the screen, he has frequently spoken about the importance of fatherhood and the perspective his daughters brought to his life.
During a conversation with Steve Kmetko on Still Here Hollywood, Chad discussed raising girls, reflecting on how it had deepened his understanding of the challenges women face.
He also celebrated his daughters in a February 2025 Instagram post, writing: "Being their dad is my life's greatest joy and privilege."
