George Clooney has spoken publicly about the death of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber's son, Presley, describing the loss as devastating for his own family as well as theirs.
The actor, 65, addressed the tragedy while attending The Albies with his wife, Amal, on Friday, October 9, less than three weeks after the model died aged 27.
"Quite honestly, it's one of the most devastating things that's happened to our family," George told Entertainment Tonight, with Amal standing beside him.
George Clooney reflects on Presley Gerber's death
George indicated that the loss was still too painful to discuss fully, before acknowledging the grief facing Presley's parents and younger sister, Kaia, 25.
His comments came at the annual awards ceremony hosted by the Clooney Foundation for Justice, which he established with Amal. The occasion marked his first public remarks about Presley's death.
George has been a close friend of Cindy and Rande for decades, with the families' relationship extending far beyond the actor's business partnership with Rande.
George and Amal Clooney's support for the Gerber family
In the days following Presley's death, George and Amal were photographed visiting Kaia's Los Angeles home.
Their presence reflected a longstanding friendship that has seen the Clooneys and Gerbers share both personal milestones and professional ventures.
George and Rande launched Casamigos alongside businessman Mike Meldman in 2013. The idea grew out of time spent together in Mexico, where George and Rande had neighbouring homes.
What began as a shared interest eventually became an international business, but friendship remained central to its founding story.
