Everything we know about RJ Mitte's fiancée who he called 'my everything' before his death

RJ Mitte, who was best known for portraying Walter White Jr. in Breaking Bad, passed away at the age 34. The actor left behind his doting fiancée Kennedy Suarez. 

The news of RJ's death came two days after he celebrated the anniversary of his engagement. The late star proposed to Kennedy on October 10, 2025, on her 30th birthday. HELLO! are taking a closer look at everything we know about their relationship.

Who is Kennedy Suarez?

Kennedy works remotely as a human resources generalist and worked with RJ on advocacy endeavors, including his family’s charity, The Mitte Foundation, which "revitalizes and funds marginalized community needs in South Texas." She was living with her late partner in  Brownsville, Texas, at the time of his death.

The pair were friends for over 10 years before their relationship turned romantic in 2020 after they took a trip together. Five years later, RJ proposed at the 2025 Dia del Sol benefit Ethereal Elegance, A Shimmering Celebration. The fundraising event benefitted United Cerebral Palsy (UCP).

"I’ve found that love is not always sunshine and rainbows, and for me, what love comes down to is trust and believing in each other, regardless of the situation, during the good times, the bad times, and everything in between! I’ve been grateful for all the love and kindness I have been given over the years, but Kennedy has been the greatest unconditional love no matter what we are going through, no matter what we are facing type love and we face it all together. I will never stop lifting her up like she has for me and can’t wait for our future," penned the late actor on Instagram following the proposal. 

RJ also opened up about his engagement to People. "I'm thrilled to have found my person, my partner in life who makes me want to be better, no matter what we're doing," he shared. "Kennedy is my everything and I can't wait to officially start our life together and see what adventures life takes us on next."

For Valentine's Day in 2026, RJ penned a special tribute to his fiancée on Instagram. "Happy Valentine’s Day. Looking back at these moments with you reminds me how grateful I am for the love and kindness we share. Love transcends all. Go out and share yours," he shared.

A statement shared by his representatives described RJ as a "beloved actor, philanthropist, and passionate disability rights activist".

"It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of beloved actor, philanthropist, and passionate disability rights activist RJ Mitte," his representatives stated. "At this time, we ask people to respect the privacy of RJ Mitte’s family and close ones."
