Jenna Ortega may typically lean towards dark shades when it comes to her sartorial agenda, but on October 15, she very much embraced method dressing in a golden, sun-inspired gown.
The actress graced the screening of her new film, Klara and the Sun at the BFI London Film Festival. For the occasion, Jenna slipped into a gold Torlowei slip dress that was worthy of the coveted under-as-outerwear trend. The lingerie gown was crafted from glossy silk and featured contrasting black lace embroidery adorned onto the bodice. Delicate floral embellishments cascaded down the skirt for a romantic finish. The gown featured a figure-hugging silhouette with a plunging neckline and razor-thin spaghetti straps. The look was completed with a yellow lace cap.
Jenna's dark locks were styled into soft waves while her makeup oozed glam, courtesy of a smoky eye and a nude-stained lip.
The 24-year-old stars in Taika Waititi's Klara and the Sun, an adaptation of Nobel Prize-winning author Kazuo Ishiguro's novel. The movie is set for release in theaters on October 23 via Sony Pictures Releasing. Set in a dystopian future where genetic modification divides society, the story follows Klara – an android who forms a bond with an ill young girl named Josie.
Jenna previously opened up to Dazed about her approach to fashion back in 2023. "It’s funny," she said. "I could dress better when I was younger, whereas now I feel like I could just stare in my closet forever and overthink everything. I used to go to school in little plastic heels with feather boas and I was really into funky socks and sequined vests. Fashion made me feel like I was my own person." She continued: "You can look back at anything you did when you were younger as embarrassing. But good for her! I was feeling myself. I think it’s adorable, I wish I had that same trust in myself to be like her."
This isn't the first time the actress has embraced the lingerie dress trend. Last year, Jenna wore a sheer gown from the Amiri spring/summer 2026 ready-to-wear collection for the 2025 Imagemaker Awards in Bel Air, California. The lacy, lilac number featured a bodice adorned with botanical-inspired embroidery that ran down to the skirt. The garment boasted a plunging neckline with spaghetti straps while the skirt was crafted a darker purple hue detailed with vertical lines of intricate sequins. A diamond-encrusted necklace and matching ring by Effy Jewelry completed the look.
