Chad Lowe and his wife, Kim Painter, honored their late daughter, Fiona, over the weekend with a celebration of life following her tragic death at 13 last month.
The Pretty Little Liars star, 58, and his family held a private memorial for the 13-year-old, with only close friends and family in attendance, People reported.
Chad and Kim announced the death of their daughter in a heartbreaking statement on September 29.
"We are deeply heartbroken by the loss of our beloved Fiona. She was a loving young girl who was smart, creative and loved to dance," the family shared.
"She was adored by her sisters, and she was deeply loved by her parents. In fact, she was the light of our lives. Her passing is devastating for our entire family, and we ask for prayers and privacy at this time."
Fiona's family ended their statement with a poignant message. "If you or someone you know is struggling with mental health, please reach out to the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988."
Fiona's cause of death
The Los Angeles medical examiner's office confirmed on October 1 that Fiona died by suicide. She was pronounced dead at 1:14 a.m. on Tuesday, September 29, at a local hospital.
Fiona was the second eldest of Chad and Kim, who also share daughters Mabel, 17, and Nixie, 10.
Mabel broke her silence on her sister's death earlier this month, sharing a carousel of pictures and videos of them over the years.
In one video, a young Mabel dances with a toddler Fiona, while pictures also showed the sisters on vacation, as well as one of Fiona posing for a dance portrait.
"I love you so much, Fiona," Mabel penned on Instagram. "I wish your short time here was easier and I hope your mind is at ease now. I will honor you forever and keep your memory alive. I love you, I hope you knew just how much."
Chad's father, Chuck Lowe, shared an emotional tribute to his granddaughter on Wednesday, September 30, alongside a photo of her as a child swimming in a pool. "Rest in peace, sweet Fiona," he wrote in the caption.
Chad and Kim welcomed Fiona on November 16, 2012. On her 13th birthday in 2025, Chad posted a series of pictures of the new teen, sharing that he was "celebrating Fiona officially becoming a teen today," and calling on her to "keep dancing through life FiBear."
In 2024, Chad said that "having daughters is such an incredible privilege" and it had opened his eyes to the "injustices in the world."
"I know that there are struggles," he said on the Still Here Podcast. "And now it's taken what I've known intellectually, and it's put it in my heart because I now have three daughters.
"And so, I look at the world from really their perspective, and I see the world and a lot of the injustices in the world from their perspective."
