Lily Allen revealed she is the latest music star to be struck by 'blue dot fever' – but not in the way you think.

The singer, 41, poked fun at the music industry's biggest fear on Friday by dressing up as a Ticketmaster map covered in blue dots.

The term 'blue dot fever' emerged after several artists were forced to cancel performances due to low ticket sales, with the blue dots on seating maps representing unsold seats.

For her transformation, Lily wore a white puffer jacket and a skin-tight white bodysuit scattered with mostly blue dots, and a high neckline that had 'stage' written across the front.

She posed for several photos on Instagram with a thermometer in her mouth and captioned the post: "Never beating the allegations. #bluedotfever."

Lily was referring to the recent cancellation of her show in Auckland, New Zealand, on October 21, which was canceled just hours before she was due to perform.

Lily shared a statement on her Instagram Story at the time, apologizing to fans after falling ill with a "viral infection."

Lily recently had to downsize venues on her tour due to not selling enough tickets

"To my West End Girls in Auckland, I am so sorry to have to tell you that I have come down with a viral infection and am unable to perform tonight," she wrote.

"I was really looking forward to seeing you all and am absolutely gutted to be letting you down. For those who have travelled all the way here, please accept my apology."

However, many people questioned whether the cancelation was due to poor ticket sales, despite reports indicating that most tickets sold.

The suggestion isn't surprising, though, as Lily experienced 'blue dot fever' earlier this year when she downsized to smaller venues for several dates on her North American West End Girl tour in September due to disappointing ticket sales, and her performance in Montreal was canceled completely.

Artists affected by 'blue dot fever'

Several big-name artists have canceled performances or their entire tours this year, including the Pussycat Dolls, Meghan Trainor, and Post Malone.

'Blue dot fever' hit Kid Cudi, as he canceled his Birmingham, Alabama show on May 5, telling fans that ticket sales "just weren't strong enough."

The Pussycat Dolls also hinted that low ticket sales were why they pulled the plug on all but one date on the North American leg of their reunion tour.

"When we announced the PCD Forever Tour, we hoped to bring the show to fans across the world," a statement shared on social media reads. "After taking an honest look at the North American run, we've made the difficult and heartbreaking decision to cancel all but one of the North America dates."

Post Malone was due to kick off his Big Ass Stadium Tour with Jelly Roll on May 13, but he canceled six dates, claiming he needed more time to work on his new music.

However, 'blue dot fever' claims soon struck as screenshots of several blue blocks at one of his shows circulated online.
