Ellen DeGeneres is mourning the loss of one of her closest and most cherished colleagues.
The comedienne, 68, took to her Instagram page to share a heartbreaking dedication to Matthew Wright, a longtime executive producer on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
Matthew passed away on October 30 at the age of 52, with a GoFundMe page started by his family breaking the news, writing: "In an unfathomable tragedy, Matt Wright passed away Oct 30th while working remotely in Los Angeles."
In her own video, which you can watch above, Ellen broke down in tears while reliving happier times with Matthew, calling the loss "shocking, just shocking" and revealing they were set to work on another project together before his untimely passing.
"He is and always will be the glue to our entire family at the Ellen Show," she continued. "I think this is going to be a really… I don't know what I'm saying. Anyway."
"And to Justin, his husband, and to his family, it's… I'm so sorry, because we lost a good guy. He was a good guy, and he and tWitch were so close. So now he and tWitch are together dancing and laughing," she added, referring to Stephen "tWitch" Boss, who passed away in 2022.
