Although he has not specifically acknowleged claims of an alleged affair, Tiger Woods has made a public apology for his "personal sins".
The golfing ace posted a statement on his website after a voicemail message - allegedly recorded by him for cocktail waitress Jaimee Grubbs - was released.
Tiger says he regrets his transgressions "with all of my heart" and promised to "strive to be a better husband and father that my family deserves".
"I am not without faults and I am far short of perfect. I am dealing with my behaviour and personal failings behind closed doors with my family.
"For all those who have supported me over the years, I offer my profound apology."
The sportsman, who has two young children, has been married to former nanny Elin Nordegren for five years.
