Christian helps grandma celebrate 40 years as queen
Little Prince Christian had his highest profile royal role to date as he helped Queen Margrethe unveil a special portrait to commemorate her 40 years on the throne.
A pull of a golden chord revealed the painting, which depicts the royal matriarch, resplendent in a fuchsia pink gown – along with her son Prince Frederik and her beloved grandson.
Both will one day be king.
Christian looked thrilled to be taking part in the opening of a special exhibition, titled Regent for 40 Years - Queen Margrethe 1972-2012.
The cute five-year-old – dapper in a grey trousers and jacket ensemble - has shot up recently, and looks more and more like his father with each passing month.
