She has been praised on numerous occasions for her unflappable poise and elegance.

But when it comes to pre-wedding nerves, Kate Middleton is no different from any other bride.

During her final public appearance with Prince William before their big day, the 29-year-old was asked by an onlooker if she was having last-minute jitters.

Kate replied: "Yes of course I am."

She told another well-wisher: "I can't believe it's coming so soon."

However William allayed his fiancée's nerves in a touching speech during the couple's visit to Lancashire.

He said: "I know that I am very fortunate. I have the support of my family and friends, I do a job I enjoy - and I have Catherine."
