Selena Gomez joins the #WeAreSilent campaign

Selena Gomez has teamed up with Orlando Bloom, Seth Rogen and Jennifer Hudson to support the #WeAreSilent social media campaign, which brings together Free The Children and The Malala Fund.

Malala Yousafzai was shot in the head in Pakistan in 2012 by a gunman as she boarded the bus to school.

She survived the attack and now campaigns internationally to ensure girls are provided with an education.

The #WeAreSilent campaign aims to encourage young people to stand up for those who are voiceless by posting pictures of themselves with their fingers over their lips in a 'shushing' motion on April 17.

Malala said: "On April 17, I will be silent to support those around the world who are denied their rights, denied an education and denied a voice to speak out".

Go to the Free the Children website to take the vow of silence for yourself and follow the campaign on Twitter using the hashtag #WeAreSilent.
