A new poll has revealed the Queen is the public figure people most trust. The monarch topped the list, which also featured newsreader Sir Trevor McDonald and The Apprentice star Sir Alan Sugar.
Two thousand people were questioned for the poll, which examined the issue of trust in the current economic climate.
High profile football faces Gary Lineker and David Beckham came out as being the most trustworthy sports personalities. While erudite TV presenter Stephen Fry was voted the most trusted media personality, followed by money saving expert Martin Lewis and celebrity chef Jamie Oliver.
