With sunshine, holidays and good spirits on the way, it's time to start preparing for the beach.

Which means that the pressure is on to shed excess weight, meaning there is a sharp rise in gym enrolments.

But then gyms are also quick to point out that after the increase in enrolments, the initial euphoria starts to wane.

Many gym-goers then abandon their verve either for a lack of motivation, laziness or even for want of seeing their objectives materialise.
