Russell Crowe's Robin Hood has East Midlands accent

Actor Russell Crowe has undergone intensive voice training to play Robin Hood with an authentic East Midlands accent.

The New Zealand-born actor has taken on the accent under the instruction of director Ridley Scott, who insists the film be as accurate as possible.

With over 100 adaptations of the Sherwood Forest story having already been made, Russell will be apparently be the first ever actor to take on this particular twang for the role.

The long-awaited film hits screens in May.
