When Tom Daley became Britain's first individual diving world champion, the main thing on his mind was keeping his dad's emotions in check.
Producing four consecutive perfect ten scores, the 15-year-old pulled off a stunning victory at a competition in Rome.
His father was so excited he slipped into the press conference following the event, pretending to be a member of the press.
The proud dad then posed a key question. "Tom, can I give you a cuddle?" he requested.
The teen hero blushingly agreed, muttering: "How embarrassing!"
"Today was never the day when I thought I would become world champion," he later told reporters.
"To come away with a gold medal was unthinkable. It still hasn't sunk in.
