Prince William remembers war heroes on big day

Prince William will be remembering some of his fallen comrades on the most important day of his life.

The future King has invited some of their nearest and dearest to his and Kate Middleton's wedding.

Second Lieutenant Joanna Dyer - a close pal of the Prince's from his Sandhurst days - was killed by a bomb in Iraq in 2007.

Her sister Holly will be at the Westminster service on Friday.

Meanwhile Major Alexis Roberts, who lost his life in Afghanistan the same year, will be represented by his widow Susie Roberts.

Her late husband was the Prince's Platoon Commander at Sandhurst and is remembered by his friend with "great fondness and respect".

In addition, the second in line to the throne has also invited Lance-Corporal Martyn Compton (pictured).

He was injured in an ambush in Afghanistan in 2006 which put him in a coma for three months and left him with 75 per cent burns to his body.
