Kate's charity announces £600,000 cash injection

Friday October 25, 2013

Kate Middleton received some wonderful news at the charity gala dinner she attended on Thursday night.

The 100 Women in Hedge Funds organisation announced that they had raised £600,000 in support of Action on Addiction, a charity of which the Duchess is a patron.

Through the lavish gala held at Kensington Palace and fundraising activity over the year, the organisation raised the funds in support of the UK addiction charity.

After mingling with some of the most powerful women in business at the reception, the 31-year-old wore an ink blue Jenny Packham dress to present Dame Amelia Fawcett, DBE with the coveted European Industry Leadership Award during dinner.

Kate is there in her capacity as patron of Action on Addiction, the UK-based charity which works to provide treatment, education and support for those affected by addiction. The charity is part of The Charities Forum of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry.

Guests reportedly paid up to £60,000 a table for the best views. The brunette beauty began a three-year patronage for 100 Women in Hedge Funds on 1 January 2013.
