Lady Gaga sues jewellery company for using her name

Lady Gaga says that a Nevada-based company is using her fame to sell their jewellery and cosmetic lines.

In a lawsuit on Monday the singer sued Excite Worldwide LLC for trademarking the names 'Lady Gaga' and 'Lady Gaga LG' without her permission.

US Patent and Trademark Office records show the applications for the trademarks have not been approved, however.

But the Born This Way singer argues could be duped into thinking she is affiliated with Excite Worldwide's products.

She is seeking unspecified damages.
