Vic Reeves has something of a passion for long-legged beauties. But his pretty wife Nancy Sorrell needn't worry, because his taste for head-turning stunners is limited to those of the four-legged variety.
The popular comedian donated £70,000 to Port Lympne Animal Park, near Hythe in Kent, to fund a new giraffe enclosure for his graceful friends. And the flamboyant funnyman was on typically high-spirited form when he and his partner came along to open to the attraction.
"Welcome to my new giraffe house," declared the 46-year-old. "It's my first and hopefully not my last. It's great. I couldn't keep them in the house at home because they were too tall so I had this built!"
Vic and Nancy, who are both keen animal lovers, have just returned from filming a wildlife documentary in the Costa Rican rainforest. After offering a snack of some willow leaves to a pair of 12ft two-year-olds called Cillion and Settanta, the Shooting Stars presenter called on all his fans to come and visit the statuesque youngsters. "They are incredible animals and I would urge everyone to come see them – see the way they glide on land."
Nancy, meanwhile, was equally chuffed with the silver plaque which bears her husband's name. "I am very proud of him," she said. "It must be lovely to have your name there. It should have lights over it." |
