Rising stars Peaches and Fuschia continue their ascent

Some young people with famous parents would be happy to content themselves with the pleasures of the celebrity party circuit, but both Peaches Geldof and Fuschia (sic) Sumner look well on the way to becoming stars in their own right.

Bob Geldof's headline-friendly daughter, who is already making her name as a DJ and newspaper columnist, has just formed a new band, while Sting's eldest girl is rapidly making inroads into the acting profession.

Having already played in Ibiza with her DJ act Trash Pussies, Peaches has now formed a band called Cosmetique.

Record labels are already reported to be taking a keen interest in the electro-pop outfit, which is based in the fashionable Hoxton area of London.

And if the 17-year-old does find success with the group, it will be just another string to her already extensive bow, as she has also signed up to present a Channel 4 documentary about the Islamic faith.

Sting's 24-year-old daughter is meanwhile staying focused on her dream of becoming a top actress. Fuschia will be making her debut alongside such luminaries as Alfred Molina and Michael York in a new Radio 4 production of Hugh Whitmore's hit play Pack Of Lies

And the budding thesp, who has recently taken up residence in her father's beachfront home in Malibu, is hoping her appearance opposite Sienna Miller in the forthcoming flick Stardust will catch the attention of Tinseltown's casting directors.
