Madonna's boyfriend 'doesn't notice' their 30-year age gap

20 AUGUST 2014

Madonna's boyfriend Timor Steffens has revealed that he thinks nothing of the couple's thirty-year age gap.

Timor, 26, who has been romantically linked to the queen of pop since January, said that he has always preferred dating older women.

"I don't notice it," Timor told The Mirror. "My girlfriends have always been older than me and that's how I like it. I learn a lot."

"Mum is a big inspiration," he said. "She is a fighter, a strong independent woman, and any -relationship I've had in the past was mostly with women that are ¬independent and like to have an opinion."

Speaking about his 56-year-old superstar girlfriend, Timor added: "She is a very strong woman and doesn't need to follow the mainstream. That's what makes her an artist."

Madonna first introduced the Netherlands-born dancer as her boyfriend at a New Year's Eve party in Switzerland. The couple have since been spotted attending high-profile events together, as well as enjoying family time on holiday with Madonna's four children.

Madonna is said to have liked Timor so much because he got on well with her children

Their most recent break was in the south of France, where Madonna rang in her birthday in mid-August.

The Material Girl singer celebrated with a decadent 1920s-themed bash in the chic city of Cannes, where famous friends including Bono, Kate Moss and David Blaine were in attendance.

Madonna and Timor met when the pair began collaborating on a dance project last year. One of the reasons the pop star was said to like the dancer so much was that he was so natural with her teenage son Rocco, as well as her other children Lourdes, Mercy and David.

Madonna's ex-boyfriend Brahim Zaibat, who she split with in December 2013 after three years, was also thirty years younger than the American singer.
