Angelina attends meeting with William Hague at the Foreign Office

This was probably one of the more memorable days for officials at the Foreign Office. A super glamorous movie star with an Oscar to her name and a reputation as one of the most dedicated philanthropists in Hollywood arrived to meet with ministers. Angelina Jolie had dropped by at the invitation of Foreign Secretary William Hague in her capacity as a Special Envoy for the United Nations refugee agency.

The actress gave a short presentation before a screening of her directorial debut In the Land of Blood and Honey, about the war in Bosnia.

Interestingly, despite her high powered film career, Angelina appeared quite nervous as she took to the podium.

The mother of six needn't have worried. She earned a round of applause after speaking from the heart about the problem of violence against women in war zones.

Angelina and her fiancé Brad Pitt regularly give six-figure sums to good causes around the world and particularly refugee issues.

And her hard-hitting film about the abuse of women has received a lot of positive feedback in Sarajevo, the Bosnian capital.
