Robert Pattinson, who was greeted with wild screaming and cheering from thousands of "Twi-hards", looked his dapper self in a Burberry London Fall 2012 mahogany red 'Glen' check wool suit.Around 6,000 fans, some of who have camped since Saturday, packed the square. Many came from outside the UK, with fans from the USA, Dubai, Sweden, Norway and Hungary amongst the crowd.Robert, 26, told the crowds in an interview on a specially erected stage that the saga connected to people on a "primal" level. "For me it's changed everything about my life. I don't even think I'd be acting if I wasn't doing this, or if I hadn't done the first one. It's crazy. The character and the whole experience combined for me," he said. "It's definitely really created something which connects to people on a very fundamental level, it's like primal."

Of the fans, he said: "(The reaction) makes me feel very foreign. It's really nice, it's really nice, especially after five years. They have stuck around, they're still camping out, I respect that. It's very, very, very cold and I don't understand what kind of mental disorder you have. "Kristen, 22, described the end of the saga as "a trip".  "This is weird, right? I don't know. I'm so happy that every single bit of the story is done," she said. "Usually we're at one of these premieres going, I don't know, you can't really feel it because you're not done. You're a little desensitised by it all because you have another one coming up. This time it's a trip, it is weird. "Kristen and Robert attracted a host of celebrities to the premiere including Tamara Ecclestone and Olympians Victoria Pendleton and Rebecca Adlington.

The Saturdays

The Saturdays' girls Mollie King, Vanessa White and Frankie Sandford also graced the red carpet. The trio chose a gothic look for the event, wearing black outfits and dark berry lips. The girls are back in London after a three-month stay in Los Angeles, where The Saturdays were filming their new reality show Chasing The Saturdays, which airs on the E! network in January.
