Nicole and Keith tied the knot Down Under but in consummate Hollywood style
|Some lucky stars have a blank cheque when it comes to organising their special day. Nicole Kidman's no-expenses spared wedding in June 2006 certainly lived up to expectations. Wearing an exquisite one-shouldered silk gown by Balenciaga, the Oscar-winning actress walked down the aisle to a string quartet from the Sydney Symphony orchestra while her friend Hugh Jackman later sang an outback ballad during the candlelit catholic ceremony.
Australian film director Baz Luhrman created a Romeo and Juliet inspired theme for the reception and even orchestrated the wedding video. The setting could have come straight from a lavish film set. A marquee adjoining the chapel was decorated Arabian-style with five spectacular crystal chandeliers and more than 150,000 red and white roses – believed to have cost nearly a quarter of a million pounds.
