YOUNG MUMS KATE AND MEG ENJOY A GIRLS' DAY OUT IN LONDON

It was very much a girls' day out for supermodel Kate Moss and her best friend Meg Matthews when they took to London's fashionable Portobello Road on a shopping spree this week. The two mums were accompanied by Kate's nine-month-old daughter, Lila, the catwalk star's mother, and a friend who is obviously expecting a new arrival of her own.

Dressed in jeans and a simple white jacket, former wild child Kate was looking very much the contented parent as she navigated the busy street with Lila's pram while chatting happily to her own mum. Lila, pretty in pink and with her tiny feet propped up comfortably, was obviously enjoying the outing as much as her famous mum.

Despite quickly regaining her famously waif-like figure after Lila's birth, the 29-year-old has revealed that becoming a parent changed her priorities and that she has largely given up modeling. Perhaps bearing in mind her own days in the business, Kate has made it clear she'd prefer Lila not to follow in her catwalk footsteps. "I wouldn't want her to be a model," she admits. "I don't think it's the best industry really for young girls. Unless you're really strong."

Meg, who has a daughter with Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher, has also spoken out about the profound effect motherhood has had on her. Describing three-year-old Anais as the source of all her happiness, the TV presenter and former party girl says the toddler "makes everything worthwhile."
