Pierce Brosnan has proved that despite bidding farewell to James Bond he's still a force to be reckoned with. The handsome Irishman made quite an impression on London's Leicester Square on Tuesday night, when he turned out for the premiere of his new flick After The Sunset.

The dashing actor was joined by co-star Naomi Harris on the red carpet, where the pair joked, hugged and hammed it up for the cameras. Also among those enjoying the screening were Serena Williams and Lady Isabella Hervey - both sizzling in red. But it was the tennis star who stole the show, with £2-million-worth of diamonds to complement her Stella McCartney gown.

In the new film Pierce plays a master thief who finds that retiring from his chosen profession is no easy task. And it seems the actor likewise had reservations about leaving Her Majesty's Secret Service. "I would not like anyone else to be Bond," he joked. "I would like them to stop there and never do another one."

But with three more movies already in the pipeline, it looks like the 51-year-old will have plenty to keep him busy. Studio bosses are meanwhile looking for a fresh face to continue the franchise. Eric Bana, Hugh Jackman and Jude Law have all been linked with the role, but the outgoing Mr Bond is backing one of his compatriots. "I'll give it to Colin Farrell," he said at a recent awards ceremony. "He'll eat the head off all of them."
