Bridget Jones: The Edge Of Reason stars, Renee Zellweger and Hugh Grant, were joined at the film's Paris premiere by a very special guest - Helen Fielding, author of the book on which the film is based. While Helen - who tends to avoid the media spotlight and rarely attends premieres - stuck to black, Renee was très chic in a vibrant red strapless number, which perfectly complemented her current brunette "do".

Hugh and Renee's concerns about reprising their roles in the follow-up to the 2001 smash hit seem to have been unwarranted. In fact, American audiences just can't wait to get to see what happens to the ditsy blonde singleton.

Universal Pictures announced earlier this week that "due to the highly enthusiastic reactions from press and exhibitors at early screenings" the film would be released a week earlier in the US than had originally been planned.
