Tom Cruise and new fiancée Katie Holmes paid a visit to Madrid on Tuesday to promote his new blockbuster War Of The Worlds. Things were anything but combative when they arrived in the Spanish capital, though, with the glamorous couple receiving a warm welcome from his ex, Penelope Cruz.
The Spanish bombshell, who has maintained a close friendship with Tom, went along to greet him and his new partner at a Scientology church in the heart of the capital. Afterwards the loved-up pair went out for dinner with Penelope's parents, Eduardo and Encarna, plus her sister Monica, who stars in one of Spain's top TV shows.
"Katie is a really beautiful person," said Eduardo Cruz after their meal at the posh Casa Lucio restaurant. The A-list couple then headed back to their £1,800-a-night suite in the city's Santo Mauro hotel.
There was an equally friendly atmosphere at the screening of the new sci-fi flick. Tom was no doubt relieved there was no repeat of the water squirting incident which left him soaking wet at the London premiere on Sunday. Scotland Yard has since confirmed the actor intends to prosecute the four-man television crew that used a water pistol disguised as a microphone to play a prank on him.
