Born in1980 in Paris, France, Eva Green grew up the daughter of actress Marlène Jobert and dentish Walter Green. She spent time in London and Ireland and decided to become an actress at 14 when she saw The Story of Adele. H.

Eva was nominated for a Molière Award for one of er first major stage performances in Jalousie en Trois Fax before taking on her first film role in The Dreamers.

Her family begged her not to take it because of the controversial nude scenes but Eva later spoke of her shock at it being cut for American audiences: "There is so much violence, both on the streets and on the screen. They think nothing of it. Yet I think they are frightened by sex."

She was later in Kingdom of Heaven, before Casino Royale director Martin Campbell approched her to join the films as Bond girl Vesper Lynn.

Eva originally turned the role down but later joined the film after realising Vesper was more than a typical 'Bond girl'.

She later won a BAFTA and an Empire award for her performance.

She made the move into TV in 2007 with Camelot and now stars in Penny Dreadful.
