Congratulations to Aliona Vilani and her husband Vincent Kavanagh! The Strictly Come Dancing professional announced she is expecting their first baby in an adorable post, which was shared on Twitter on Thursday morning.

The 32-year-old uploaded a candid image of the couple, which sees her partner plant a tender kiss on her blossoming belly. "Just want to share our amazing news! Vin & I are pregnant and we are sooo excited to have our little miracle," she gushed in the caption.

The happy news comes almost one year after she quit the BBC talent show in "order to start a family with her husband". Last year, she waltzed to victory with celebrity partner Jay McGuinness.

The Wanted singer was quick to wish the pair congratulations, by tweeting: "Massive baby-congrats to Vin and @AlionaVilani, I'm so, so happy for you both! (Fingers crossed for Dads voice and Mums moves)."

This baby marks the first child for the professional dancer and Dublin-born Vincent; the couple tied the knot in a beautiful private ceremony on St Thomas in 2014.

"Vincent is a lot of fun and adores me," she told HELLO! shortly after the wedding. "He is the sweetest man I have ever met. He is my soulmate. You never know when you're going to meet someone who is so right for you. My parents keep saying they couldn't have imagined I would meet someone who is so similar to me.'

Speaking about future plans, she added: "I look forward to having a family. To me, that is the most important thing."

Meanwhile, Aliona is the only Strictly professional to have won the show twice. Prior to her victory with Jay, the dancer was crowned champion alongside McFly rocker Harry Judd in 2011.

But last year, when announcing her decision to leave the popular series, Aliona tweeted: "Going into this Strictly Come Dancing Series 13, I decided that no matter what would happen, it will be my last one. After 7 years on Strictly Come Dancing, as my finale, this has been my best Strictly experience ever by a long way!"
