Why run up a descending escalator? It's going in the wrong direction. It will take all your energy and effort just to stay in the same place. Surely, if you're going to push yourself, you should get involved with a process that's already got some momentum. Or, at least, one that won't resist you every step of the way. Unless, perhaps, you like a challenge. Or you're learning something from the process. You may have many perfectly good reasons for sticking with a current tricky task. I just feel obliged to point out that there are easier ways!
