US royal watchers can look forward to getting an inside glimpse at Britain’s royal family this Sunday, when the first instalment of a documentary series made by the Earl of Wessex’s production company is set to air in the US. The 11-part miniseries, entitled A To Z Of Royalty, is also garnering attention as it features an exclusive chat with Edward’s wife Sophie – the first since the infamous “fake sheikh” scandal last April.

Edward, who co-executive produces the series, reportedly persuaded his spouse – silent since a reporter posing as an Arab sheikh taped her making unflattering comments about the royal family – to give the exclusive interview. In one episode of the documentary, according to the guide on the website for the programme’s broadcaster, E! Entertainment, she speaks about being the newest member of the royal family and “how she almost got cold feet before her marriage”.

And it seems Edward has a featured role as well. In one episode called "That’s Entertainment" he talks about the launch of his Ardent production company “after a lifelong love affair with show business and how he has bridged the gap between his family and the working world”. The Prince then “opens up about his public and private life and the scandals that rocked his marriage”.

A To Z Of Royalty, begins airing in the US on August 18, with the interview with Sophie of Wessex due to be shown on August 21.
