Countess Alexandra and devoted husband Martin chill in the Med with her two princes

Two years after beginning a new married life with Martin Jorgensen, Alexandra, Countess of Frederiksborg has the glow of a truly contented wife and mother.

The 45-year-old was seen holidaying on the Turkish coast this week, looking happy, relaxed, and with a rather funkier image than during her union with Prince Joachim of Denmark.

Wearing an asymmetric tie-dye T-shirt, jeans and gold flats plus sporting a trendy short new haircut, Alexandra seemed like any other tourist enjoying the sights. With her as always were her three special guys – photographer husband Martin and her children by Joachim, Nikolai, ten, and Felix, seven.

As the family strolled through the beachside resort of Alanya tucking into ice cream it was clear that her two bright-eyed little princes are also thriving. It helps that 31-year-old Martin regards the youngsters as his own.

Asked about the possibility of more children he is wont to reply firmly, but politely: "Our family is just as it should be". Joachim, Queen Margrethe's younger son, has also made an effort to include them in his new life with French-born wife Marie, who presented him with another son earlier this year. The pair frequently holiday together with the boys, while Joachim often joins Alexandra for family get-togethers, despite their 2005 divorce.
