Princess Isabella of Denmark is about to embark on an exciting new adventure as she begins her military training on Monday.
The 19-year-old royal will be joining her brother, Crown Prince Christian, who will soon be transitioning to practical service as a platoon leader with the Royal Life Guards at the Guards Barracks in Høvelte.
However, both royals have experienced their military service differently from their fellow recruits, with both Isabella and Christian foregoing a salary and other monthly allowances.
Recruits in Denmark can make up to £22,000 yearly, with a further £1,840 in allowances, with all of this money being tax-free. However, the Danish Palace has confirmed to tabloid paper BT that Isabella would be missing out on this, like Christian.
The decision to turn down the money was one that both Christian and Isabella made themselves, with the pair opting to live off of allowances from the royal family.
When she starts her military service, Isabella will be with the Guard Hussar Regiment, like her brother. Christian recently met a milestone with his own military career, as he was appointed a second lieutenant in the army at the Guards Barracks in Slagelse.

Crown Prince Christian's military service
Before taking up lieutenant's training last August, Christian completed military training with the Guard Hussar Regiment, having undertaken the traditional "REX-tour," an intense four-day exercise.
The exercise is divided into two parts of 48 hours, with cadets first taking part in contingency and guarding, where they are deployed at short notice. The second part sees them focus on task solving under difficult conditions.
© GettySleep and food are limited during the exercise, with cadets also carrying around 25 to 30kg of equipment while patrolling around 31 miles in 36 hours. Christian and his fellow comrades were also tested in a realistic battlefield setting during the final exercise.
Christian's military future was confirmed back in January when the Danish Palace confirmed that the heir to the throne would now be training with the Royal Life Guards.

King Frederik also completed military training in all three services, including training as a frogman in the naval elite special operations forces, Frømandskorpset, where he earned the nickname "Pingo".
