Smiling Princess Estelle celebrates Sweden's National Day

06 JUNE 2013 The Swedish royal family have marked their National Day by releasing an adorable new photo of Princess Estelle dressed in traditional Swedish clothing.

With a cute bow in her hair and wearing Swedish folkdräkt – the traditional flower-embroidered pinafore worn over a white blouse – smiling Estelle is seen excitedly running around the gardens of the family's home.

"National Day greetings from Haga Palace!" accompanies the picture, which was posted on the royal house's official website and Facebook page.

Estelle then joined her parents at the Royal Palace as Victoria addressed the nation. Dressed in a white dress and clutching a soft toy, Estelle sat in her mother's arms in the sunshine on the palace steps.

Designed as a grand house rather than an official residence, Haga Palace, a 19th-century mansion, has an informal, cosy feel and Estelle often plays in its private gardens.

6 June 2013 is Estelle's second National Day, althought the youngster was only four-months-old for 2012's celebrations and didn't accompany her family on their official engagements.

Last year new parents Prince Daniel and Princess Victoria, joined Prince Carl Philip, Princess Madeleine, Queen Silvia and King Carl XVI Gustaf for a dinner at Stockholm's royal palace after spending the day visiting nearby towns and cities.

In April, photos were released of Crown Princess Victoria and her daughter strolling the grounds of the Haga Palace together.

Estelle, who celebrated her first birthday in February, wrapped up in a warm woolen jumper, blue jeans and white shoes that match her mother's and Victoria looked casual in a grey long-sleeved top, jeans and a grey scarf.

National Day 2013 comes just days before the Swedish royals prepare to celebrate another special day, Princess Madeleine's wedding to Chris O'Neill, on Saturday.

Stockholm will be filled with hordes of well-wishers eager to see the happy couple and their royal guests.
