In the future his responsibilities will be on a significantly larger scale. It was announced in autumn 2006 that he will take over from his grandfather, Prince Philip as Windsor's Official Ranger. The role involves running 5,000-acres surroundings of the historic royal residence on the banks of the River Thames just outside London.
It is a position which will allow William to indulge in two of his favourite passions, the countryside and spending time with the two people best qualified to support and guide him as he moves towards his eventual role - his beloved grandparents. |
