If you still haven't decided what swimwear you'll be sporting on the shore this summer, Sao Paulo fashion week – Latin America's biggest fashion showcase – is offering some serious inspiration.

While the bathing suits usually spotted on Brazil's beaches may have become synonymous with cheeky minimalism, the collections being sent down the runway in Sao Paulo include elegant classics.

Featuring strongly are bandeau bikini combinations in classy stripes knotted at bust and hip with oversize bows as modelled by Naomi Campbell for Osklenen.

Elsewhere, eveningwear maestro Alexandre Herchcovitch – famous for day looks that mix cultural references from around the world – presented resort wear in brightly hued prints which reflected Brazil's tropical location. Meanwhile, other designers were taking a different tack, sending out comfy cotton options in natural tones.

Sao Paulo fashion week, which this year ran from June 16-22, featured 50 designers showing men's and women's ready-to-wear, including everything from the latest wisp to shake up the shoreline to casuals and eveningwear.
